How To Deal With Anger

I think that most people have heard the saying “Don't go to bed angry.”

Many of us probably didn’t know that the idea actually came from a Bible verse.

The saying is usually brought up as marriage advice, but it applies to everyone. If something or someone makes you angry, you would be wise to handle it in one of 3 ways:

1. Hold your ground and fight for what you believe in.
2. Decide that it's not really that big of a deal and give up the fight.
3. Forgive and forget.

And of course, the faster you choose one of these options, the better.

The problem with holding in your unresolved anger, or putting it off for another day, is that it builds inside you. It may grow to a level that is bigger and more intense than the original issue even deserved. It may rob you of peace. It can definitely hurt relationships.

Holding things in for the sake of keeping the peace may sound like a good idea, and your intentions for doing so may be good, but you will be better off if you face your problems as quickly as possible, whenever possible.

Good luck.

Doug
